Weekly Photo Challenge: Color

13 Jun

Old Photo: bringing it back.

gorp

Some hutong art, painted on the walls near Renmin University.

I simply love happening upon random beauty in a place that I’m so used to. You know how to just become so accustom to your surroundings where you live. You begin to mistake the “unusual” as “usual” and the “beautiful” as merely “plain”.

Sometimes I need to stop, take a deep breath and open my eyes.

My point?

Hooray for graffiti and people who can actually paint on a rough canvas.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Lunchtime

15 Mar

Nothing could be better than dining with family, munching and crunching on each other’s pests. Having a grand old time.

As to what goes into this lunch; I’m certain a keen eye and a well developed sense of what should stay on the body and should not.  Unfortunately to show what is actually being eaten for this particular lunch, I would have to get dangerously close.

These monkeys aren’t the friendly, take-a-photo-of-me kind. Once after taking a photo, a large one that had teeth this big, pursued me, and stole my crackers.

Henceforth I kept my distance. But still doesn’t it look like the ideal meal?

Weekly Photo Challenge: Forward

22 Feb

This may come off as pretentious, or maybe it’ll just be perceived as art; you never know.
Recently travelled to Thailand, and voyaged to a little island, Koh Samui. While I was there, catching up on some sun and vitamin D, the sound of the waves pulled my attention.
The continual ebb and flow of the ocean. Constantly moving, to and fro repeatedly.
Always edging onward. It’s existence was here before I came and it’ll remain here when I leave to move on to another place: forward.

Angkor Wat (Bangkok, Thailand)

A Wat

I am almost just as tall aren’t I? I love the standard “stand-in-front” of the monument and take a photo. A token tourist pic don’t you think?
